Walking to school

Walking to school

At Halsey drive school some students walk to school and others come by bus or car. Some people believe that all children should walk to school. I completely disagree with the claim. What do you think?  I have 2 reasons why I disagree that all children should walk to school.

Many articles have been written to support that all children should not walk to school. The Road safety team in England have said that children should not walk to before the age of 10 because children can easily get distracted and kids might not be able to judge speed and distance to cross the road. Therefore children can get injured and badly hurt. You do agree don’t you?

If their houses are too far away it takes them 20 min to only walk to school and in the middle if you feel sick you can not walk all the way back home but it is faster. Altogether I think children should not walk to school.

There is so, so much support that all children should not walk
to school. There is no doubt if children walk to school and get distracted by something they can get badly hurt. What if children's’ houses are far away and they feel sick halfway they can not walk back. Now we can be very sure that all children should not walk to school.

This week we have been learning to write an argument using evidence.
